Ars longa, vita brevis…

“Ars longa, vita brevis, occasio praeceps, experimentum periculosum, iudicium difficile.”

This can be rendered into English as ‘life is short, the art (craft/skill) long, opportunity fleeting, experiment treacherous, judgment difficult’.

This beautiful phrase, authored by Hippocrates, father of medicine, can be applied to just about everything in life. But art, science – and life – out-live the individual – Thus, nothing to worry about.
