SILENCE VI

What to silence can be compared?

In the room, all is quiet, peaceful.

Not a movement or stirrings in the air…

The objects, as if consciousness filled,

Appear distant yet close, intimate,

Silent yet seeming to speak.

A mysterious presence is revealed:

Is it Being’s own essence?

The heart, not the mind, knows the sense…

 Welcome, silence and peace;

Welcome a thousand times solitude.

The first to learn how to listen, to see…

 The second to learn how to be, how to feel.
