We mentioned love, being, and understanding as in intimate relationship with silence – and that should be enough! But we also said that silence is our essence, and that the essence of the manifested (the Universe or creation) is in the unmanifest, its prototype (the muted end-point of the syllable OM, thus the soundless sound). The exact practice of Yoga

With the utterance of the syllable OM,

Albeit silence produces a greater benefit,

Since it is not an annihilation which is

Sought in silence, but, rather, it is

Being that which is being pointed to.

(Amritabindu Upanishad)

And in another Upanishad:

When the five senses and the mind are still,

And reason itself rests in silence,

Then begins the Path supreme.

(Katha Upanishad)

What in multiplicity, creation is sound and movement is silence and quiet beauty before creation. And, of course, it is love throughout.
