The ‘hiding’ ego

“Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?” (Jeremiah 23:24) [This means that] should “a man hide himself in secret places,” i.e., he retains his ego, his “I,” then, says G-d: “I will fail to see him,” G-d, as it were, will not see him.
