Pure, crystalline flowing waters – Corrientes aguas, puras, cristalinas

Pure, crystalline flowing waters,
wondrous trees self-gazing in them,
green meadow full of the coolest shade,
birds, scattering there your laments,
ivy climing up the trees,
twisting your way in their bossom green…

Garcilaso de la Vega

……………………………………………………….

Corrientes aguas, puras, cristalinas,
árboles que os estáis mirando en ellas,
verde prado de fresca sombra lleno,
aves que aquí sembráis vuestras querellas,
hiedra que por los árboles caminas
torciendo el paso por su verde seno…

Garcilaso de la Vega
